East Houston Street Fireworks

The Macy’s fireworks were not visible at all from my Lower East Side rooftop this year. In past years I could see the very highest rockets, this year I could hear them but couldn’t even see them light up the sky. But some neighbors put on a show.
My camera was on a tripod. I set it for five seconds of exposure, and snapped away when I saw a streak heading for the sky.

Key Foods Grand Re-Opening

I never shopped much at Key Foods, preferring to go to Commodities, Trader Joe’s or the Essex Market. But they’ve really upgraded the store, and they now stock extensive organic produce etc. Congratulations to an old store willing to change with the times.
