Mic-Check at Occupy Wall Street

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

“Mic-check” is what they call this method of communicating to a crowd without amplification. One person shouts out “Mic-check” and those around know to repeat each statement, hopefully projecting the information all around, so that everyone understands what is being said. Bullhorns and other amplified sound requires a hard-to-get permit. This is so much more pleasant and participatory than getting shouted at with a bullhorn.
