Grannies and Veterans Civil Disobedience

Afghan war protest. Several grannies and veterans peacefully stop traffic on Seventh Avenue outside the Times Square recruiting station and were arrested. Several of the older women could barely walk. It was bitterly cold. Though the Times Square recruiting station is beneath the windows of ABC News there was no mainstream media coverage of this protest. The only professional camera I saw there was from Chinese television. This morning I could find nothing on Google News about this. The White House protest yesterday where 131 people were arrested received minimal news coverage as well. More info on the Catholic Workers Group

At least YOU were there reporting on what we felt was a very important event, and I thank you for your great public service.
When I posted the above comment, I hadn’t yet realized there was a video. I have to add how terrific it is — so artful and so true, Again, my deepest thanks.
Excellent work. Much needed! Thank you
Veterans for Peace Chapter 034 NYC.
I’m a proud associate member of chapter 34 Veterans for Peace. I was very happy to see the turnout for yesterdays protest against the war. Although there is black out on these activities by the main stream bought and paid for media. Hundreds of shoppers saw our action!
The struggle continues until we end war!
Thanks for the great video..
Thank you for the great video and pics, and thank you to all who participated. Inspiring.
I am a member of the Granny Peace Brigade and it was heartening to see the turnout of these indomitable women and the Veterans joining with them to protest the wars and occupations. It is urgent to let the world know that there is a culture of peace alive in the USA and that peace is a human right, More of us must stand shoulder to shoulder to wage peace. The future of the world’s children and our planet is at stake. Thanks for recognizing the importance of this demonstrationl
