Essentially, if you vote for your favorite Democratic candidate on the Working Families Party line, it will enable the WFP to continue to pressure these candidates to a more progressive stand. So, you are not throwing your vote away on candidates with no chance of election, but still letting your voice be heard. Political third parties in New York are required to get 50,000 votes in a gubernatorial election every four years to maintain a ballot line.
