Portland Bridge
Lots of bridges in Portland Oregon, the Willamette River cuts right through it.

Portland Mountain View
View from a park way high in the hills of Portland, of Mt. Adams I think.

Wacky D

Wacky D
Wacky Doodler, my favorite Torontonian and street art enthusiast, visited NYC this past weekend. I took her on an in vain search for some remnants of the Manhattan street art scene on the West Side. But by blind luck we did stumble upon the Giant Os Gemeos schoolboy with the international pants.

Apparel

Apparel
Just west of the American Apparel outlet on the Lower East Side. This bit of counter-advertising was under the glass covering a real ad for American Apparel. I assumed it was a Photoshop of Dov Charney’s face on the model, but I’m not sure. It doesn’t really look like Dov, or at least how he appears in Google image search.

Northwest Mountains from the Sky

Mt.St. Helens
Mt. St. Helens from the south, the north side is the side that blew.
Mt. Adams - Mt. Ranier
And as far as I can determine this is Mt. Adams in the foreground and Mt. Ranier in the back.
I was flying from Portland OR to the Chicago airport on my way back to the East Village.

Test Dig

Test Dig
Jackhammers woke me this morning. Test pits are being dug, promptly filled in again and covered in asphalt on East Houston Street. Bowery Boogie has the story. Apparently this is just the beginning of a three year traffic and noise ordeal for the stretch between the Bowery and the FDR.
