Where the Toy Tower Used to Be
Wednesday, August 27th, 2008That’s one of Eddie’s tree sculptures in the upper left corner. As far as I know the foliage and flowers all grew wild after the tower was taken down.
Ted Kennedy at the Democratic Convention
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008Nothing, nothing is going to keep me away from this special gathering tonight…
I have come here tonight to stand with you to change America, to restore its future, to rise to our best ideals and to elect Barack Obama president of the United States…Together we have known success and seen setbacks … but we have never lost our belief that we are all called to a better country and a newer world. I pledge to you that I will be there next January on the floor of the Senate…
And this November, the torch will be passed again to a new generation of Americans. So with Barack Obama and for you, our country will be committed to his cause. The work begins anew, the hope rises again, the dream lives on…

Billi Kid endorses Obama

Believe it or not the campaign has just begun. The Democratic convention starts tonight. I am hoping the Hillary drama will be handled gracefully. I am curious to see if my fave, Kucinich, will get to make an appearance. And I want to hear Obama and Biden’s speeches. I hope they are going to pitch a progressive strategy to get us out or our current mess. As opposed to the losing strategy of pandering to the right.
PBS is carrying it tonight. Randi Rhodes will no doubt do excellent pre-game coverage this afternoon, live from the convention.
Nova M stream on KPHX, Arizona ads and all. Hear Randi Rhodes live 3 – 6 Eastern time. Mike Malloy, Stephanie Miller, Rachel Madow and Thom Hartmann also on the stream. KPHX website

It’s the Cooper Square Hotel on the Bowery. It looks like it landed right on top of some tenements.
