New York has some great subway mosaics. This is not one of them, it is just too cute.and reeks of NYU public relations. N, R, W line at 8th Street and Broadway.
I agree, the old ones were far better works of art, maybe because they took the time to use a lot of tiny tiles and slivers.
Check out the terra cotta beaver panels in the old Astor Place station sometime, they are nicely made.
