Sarah D. Roosevelt Park. I think this is a group practicing Falun Gong, a form of qigong. Falun Gong is called a cult by the mainland Chinese government. But they seem fairly well accepted within the NYC Chinatown community. Falling for forbidden yoga in Chinatown park - By Deborah Lynn Blumberg Falun Gong allowed in Chinatown parade - By David H. Ellis Both in Downtown Express |
But, for all I know this could be some other Chinese practice, some form of tai-chi. Polaroid Scene poster- Pretty bland as street art, but the site is chock full of fun polaroid photos, mostly of young party-goers mugging for the camera. The thumbs page takes forever to load, and captions are non-existent. But the pictures tell their own story. This group of photos is titled Shepard Crushed NYC. It shows someone apparently from the Obey - Andre the Giant crew putting up varied pieces.
