One of those old time gas stations.

The Gaseteria at Houston and B is one of the few remaining gas stations in lower Manhattan. I should document it before it is replaced by student housing. Who is going to supply gas for the cars of the people who will be occupying all of the tall buildings going up around here? Could this be the result of a mad city-planner’s careful ‘Starve the Cars’ campaign? A design that would turn this whole island into a Critical Mass Bike Ride. Bring your bike this Friday, 7 PM, Union Sqare Park north. Experience Your Future.

Bush Certified Organic by Bush

Tuesday, May 25th, 2004

Over the course of 10 days in mid-April, the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued three “guidances” and one directive – all legally binding interpretations of law – that threaten to seriously dilute the meaning of the word “organic” and discredit the department’s National Organic Program.

…the changes – which would allow the use of antibiotics on organic dairy cows, synthetic pesticides on organic farms, and more – were made with zero input from the public or the National Organic Standards Board.
