First Street Mural Jam

Monday, July 28th, 2003
A portion of a mural jam on 1st Street near Second Avenue.
I was drawn mostly to this exquisitely rendered face. It’s my guess that it was added last to the jam.

Why?

Monday, July 28th, 2003

Why someone is pasting the face of poor lil’ dead Jon-Bennet on the parking meters around here is your guess as good as mine.

Zipped Up

Monday, July 28th, 2003
I’m guessing that the jacket is for road-rash protection, but does he need it zipped up in stop and go city traffic in this heat?

Cool

Monday, July 28th, 2003
Some people’s thermostat seems to be set differently than mine. While I sweat this woman looks cool and dry. Though it is not nearly as oppressive today as it was yesterday.

No Sweat

Sunday, July 27th, 2003
Here’s the only other photo I like from that entire sweaty walk. Obviously this suit is lightweight summer wear, but it is at least three times as much material as I was wearing, and this dapper guy looks way cooler than I felt. First Avenue near 7th Street. 1 PM, 90 degrees and very humid, thunderstorms predicted for later this afternoon.
