Village Halloween Parade 2004

This was my favorite homemade costume. It recycles, has robo sounds and music. And he was doing agile robo dance moves, pretty amazing in such a bulky costume. It looks like he can only see straight ahead, and I don't see any way for him to see his feet, but he did appear to have friends accompanying him, carting the music, I guess they helped keep him from tripping.

"Powered by clean, safe nuclear energy.
These puppets have seen many parades. I didn't see any really spectacular large puppets this year.
The temperature hovered around 70 degrees, ideal weather for the parade.
Bikes make good parade horses. Speaking of which, I didn't smell or see any of this, this year.
Another interesting homemade costume, it looks a bit uncomfortable for the puppeteer. She needs to bend over and use arm extensions for the front legs of the dog. I wish I'd seen it in action, I shot this before the parade started. I wonder if she still had such a winning smile by the time she made it to 22nd Street.
The drummers and marching bands are vital to the parade, helping keep the energy level high.
I first remember seeing this band in 2001.

More Drummers.

Parade marshall carrying a giant fork. It probably a desert fork, this year's theme "Sweets"
A golden woman.
Frankenstein, Draculette, and a big green head.
