The giant puppets that start the parade are created by Superior Concept Monsters

I'm not sure what these scary figures are about. I call them hags, but who knows what their creators call them. They've been in several parades. I often don't get to see the large puppets in action as we unsponsored participants are in a confined area below Spring Street and the view from there is marginal.

T
hese skeletons or variations of them have been in many of the parades.

These cool earthy globes are rolled up Sixth Ave., I imagine, though I didn't get to see them roll.

This snake is puppeteered by numerous volunteers.

Music is essential to the parade. The drumming keeps the energy up and the dancing lively.

This Tyrannosaurus skeleton puppet is one of my favorites. I wonder how much it weighs. I know when I've seen it in action the operator moves at a stately pace. It's bones are hollow and made out of some sort of plastic, so it can't be too bad. I know I'm left exhausted from dancing around with my relatively lightweight costume. I'm sure this one needs as much stamina or more at whatever pace it moves

I saw these folks practicing before the parade they swirled around in concentric circles.
