This is a panorama stitched together from three photos.

I arrived at the Isaiah Wall, First Avenue and East 43rd Street, opposite the main entrance to UN Headquarters at around 9 AM the stated time of the demo. I think I was one of the last people allowed into this area.

People were then sent into this other area on the sidewalk a bit north of us, even though it did not seem excessively crowded around the monument. A divide and conquer technique, it seemed to me. In order to try and get some photos in that segment of the crowd I had to walk all the way to Second Avenue. I walked to 47th Street and back to First Ave. hoping to get a good shot of the UN, but my camera was out of memory. I then went back downtown. But by the time I got to the northern entrance of the barricades, the cops were claiming that it was too crowded to enter and told us to go to the 42nd Street entrance, which I already knew was closed.

A continuation of the protest will be happening later this afternoon (4 p.m.-6 p.m.) at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, East 47th Street and First Avenue. Which can hold a large crowd.

These stickers have been showing up on lightpoles all around the city. Here they are on the back of this woman's coat.
