I’m glad they seem to be conserving these venerable Upper West Side door guardians.
I’m not sure if the reddish segments are repairs or an sad start to a cleaning away of the lovely moss.

The original building seems to be hiding behind the ground floor facade renovation. I wonder if the original brickwork is preserved beneath.
