Essex Night
Trying to rescue the pixels from digital noise, I applied some filters. My camera is pretty noisy in low light. Essex and Stanton Streets.
Orchard Night
American Apparel was throwing off enough light to illuminate this scene. That’s a toy truck on the right. Orchard and Houston Streets.

Michael Antonio Installation
I was walking down Ludlow street when Michael Antonio asked me to photograph his installation. He says he does them all over the city.

Apparel

Apparel
Just west of the American Apparel outlet on the Lower East Side. This bit of counter-advertising was under the glass covering a real ad for American Apparel. I assumed it was a Photoshop of Dov Charney’s face on the model, but I’m not sure. It doesn’t really look like Dov, or at least how he appears in Google image search.

Test Dig

Test Dig
Jackhammers woke me this morning. Test pits are being dug, promptly filled in again and covered in asphalt on East Houston Street. Bowery Boogie has the story. Apparently this is just the beginning of a three year traffic and noise ordeal for the stretch between the Bowery and the FDR.

The pasted paper dialogue on what was formerly the Swoon mural continues.
