I’m still not getting the results I want from this latest version of my steadycam. Once again I went to capture Tompkins Square Park in the snow. And once again it was fairly breezy, swinging the balance arm of the steadycam like a pendulum. That along with the slippery footing, and having my left hand holding an umbrella and unable to aid stability, produced less than optimal results. In the video above I let YouTube stabilize the footage. But I don’t think it helped the look of the video much as the process also much degrades the image quality. But this is good enough for blogging, and I got some nice shots of the frozen, nearly empty park.
