Pre-Sandy
Sunday, October 28th, 2012
It was a little breezy, and misty but otherwise pleasant on the East River Promenade this afternoon.

Fishing and running.

Duct taped basement entrance on Clinton Street.

Housing on Delancey Street near the East River. This was the only window I saw taped. I’m fairly sure this building is in Zone 1, but I saw little sign of evacuation.

These people, heading west on 10th street near Avenue A were either evacuating from Zone 1 or dressing as evacuees for a Halloween Party. Aside from them I saw little sign of evacuation or panic buying. I did not see long lines or empty shelves in the markets I passed on Clinton, B, or A.

The Remedy Diner taped up and nearly deserted.

I heard the Mayor say that all high rise construction sites have been inspected and secured against the wind. These are the cranes on the top of WTC1, this afternoon.

Be safe, G!
