First Avenue Retail Market

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

First Avenue Retail
Built by LaGuardia to get the pushcarts off the street. It now houses The Theater for the New City. I imagine the interior must have looked a lot like what the Essex Street Market looks like today. I’m not sure but I think the theater doors are from the original market. At least they remind me of how the doors on the Essex Street Market looked like only a few years back.
