Sunday, January 17th, 2010Samantha is a rescue raven from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My camera was barely able to capture her faint vocalization, I’ve never heard her make a loud squawk like the crows that also visit this cemetery in the East Village of NYC.

Samantha Raven in the Wind Chill

Samantha Raven injured her wing and has found refuge in the Marble Cemetery on East Second Street in the East Village, Manhattan. This was shot on Sunday and the wind chill was around 10 F.
I shot this with my new Lumix FZ35. It has an 18x zoom and shoots video in HD. I cropped the video to 720×480 to zoom in even further. I had the camera set a bit over-exposed but aside from that I’m happy with how much detail I was able to get.
Bound Angel – Beekman Tower

Strapped in for the safety of those below, I guess. I’ll get the name of the building the next time I’m nearby. The humongous Beekman Tower is in the background.
Something about the sculptural details of this building remind me of the Chrysler Building.
