Man, I walked by there today and was marveling over it. I cannot believe it. It’s as if some alien monster is slowly chewing up the Lower East Side.
My alternate title was: The Earthmen have Landed and are Terraforming the Lower East Side. But that was a little long for a title.
Who cares if it’s long?! That’s a primo title. There really is an alien-like aspect to all of this…A takeover by pod people…
needs a starbucks. and a quizno’s. and don’t forget the CVS.
No fabric stores, C?
who needs a unique neighborhood when you have all the same stuff you get at a strip mall??? lol.
if you stand on houston st and allen, and look toward katz’s deli, at the skyline, you would shake your head in disbelief.
there have been lots of changes on orchard street this past year, and there will be a lot more changes to come soon.

I’m glad you are doing that. I’ve thought of doing it myself, but inertia, y’know. It’s a law of physics.
hey gammablog, have you seen this movie? http://www.capturedmovie.com/
i haven’t seen it, but the trailer makes it sounds intriguing.
I’ve not seen it either. Clayton Paterson has been documenting the neighborhood for a long time, he must have enough interesting footage to make a good video.
