The slow construction laden subways yesterday didn’t help in my Open House New York quests. I only made it to the Steamship Lilac, and then decided to explore uptown. The cars and stations were so hot and crowded that I didn’t get to explore my ohny map until I was on the D express to 125th Street. There I discovered that anything I wanted to see in that neighborhood was either closed or only available on Sunday. I sweltered on over to the downtown side until a lovely air-conditioned D with plentiful seats took me home to the Lower East Side. I’m keeping my quest more to this neighborhood today. First stop Solar 1 at Stuyvesant Cove Park.
