I find it interesting how these things often remain unmolested for so long. I think people are afraid that they may actually house a bird’s nest or that they just don’t want to touch the nasty things.

the whole point of these installations is that they decay from neglect much like a burned down old tenement or squat that these bird hovels are supposed to mirror in real life.
