Eyebeam seems like an interesting organization. This is one of their summer projects. Kids ecologically themed street art projects, like sound boxes that give a message when cranked. They blog it here:
THE CLASS BLOG FOR EYEBEAM’S DIGITAL DAY CAMP 2007 PROGRAM, FOCUSING ON TAKING ART AND ACTIONS TO THE STREETS
DDC 2007 will focus on taking art and actions to the streets. Students will engage in urban research in the form of public interactions and street art. Participants study the techniques, politics and groups involved in executing such projects, and learn about the practice and theory behind participatory actions, art, and activism. DDC students will develop individual and team projects derived from their communities and lives. At the conclusion of each week of DDC; the projects will be displayed in an evolving 5-week long exhibition alongside the projects installed in Eyebeam’s 10 year exhibition.
I came across this from a link to my Swoon interview on the blog.
Release Potter Now!
Tuesday, July 17th, 2007Some clever fool has apparently let loose the latest book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
I would like to read the damn thing without spoilers. An internet and general media fast, possibly combined with earplugs and a blindfold would probably work. An immediate wilderness camping trip would be more fun. But neither of these will insure I remain unspoilt.
J.K. or whoever holds the wand, let the bookstores sell now. I see them, they are bundled and sealed in the bowels of giant stores across the world. Release them now!
The GammaBlog pledges not to spoil, and is officially supporting the Release Potter Now movement, forming at this very moment, somewhere else, please.
