Engine 55

Broome Street. Has anyone noticed that walking around with umbrellas on sunny days has migrated from being the exclusive province of old Chinese ladies, to women in general? I think men should take it up as well, looks cool. I’d like mine covered in solar cells powering a fan to cool my sweaty brow.

Torn not Torn

I don’t know if anyone has identified the artist, but these prints have been showing up in all the usual street art haunts here in Manhattan. They appear to be Photoshop collages of photos featuring street art. Each one I’ve seen has been different. Most of them have not left much impression on me, but I really like this one. The trompe l’oiel tear revealing the Swoon print is really sweet.

Orphan Asylum

Models – Gorgious Fashion Revue, the Israel Orphan Asylum and an Italian candidate for mayor in Madison Square Garden. What does it all mean?

These posters were preserved beneath some planking, and then further preserved with transparent medium by the staff at the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Broome Street Clothes Line

This is very near the Tenement Museum, but I don’t think they curated it.
