Storker Glow Baby
Monday, May 29th, 2006It looks like this Storker (Mark Jenkins) piece is embedded with many LED blinkies. I thought they were coins until I saw the photo on my computer.
Against the dark background I think I can see that the LEDs are still glowing. Tip of the hat to Gore B for pointing this piece out to me. Update: It’s called Jesus 2.0. Here’s a quicktime video about it’s construction and placement.

lol.
storker’s been throwie making!
I need to go back there at night to see if the batteries still have the juice.
Fabulous, just fabulous
When I see stuff like this it really annoys me that streetart is treated like vandalism
sophisticated.
l.e.d.s in atransparent street sculpture!! fresh.
dammm. i didnt even realize. remember that half comment i made about street art last time i saw you. i stand corrected
There must be about a hundred bucks worth of LEDs and batteries here. In the sunlight you can’t tell what they are. From the ground I thought they were coins and jelly beans. I suspect it was placed with a pole. Maybe combined with standing on top of a van or with really long screw-together painting poles. Whatever, it’s a really beautiful, dedicated piece of street art.
saw in on wooster today. WOW
haha–coins and jellies, i like that and thanks. these are the GRL’s Throwies embedded. it was a collab piece we did together. glad you found it.
Here’s a Quicktime video from that site that shows the construction and placement of the piece. (I was right about them using a pole)
