Cindy Sheehan posing with three Veterans for Peace at a standing-room-only book signing for her new book,
Not One More Mother’s Child, at Coliseum Books on 42nd Street.
My flash was off, she is illuminated by the many flashes of press photographers.
As I went up to get my book signed, Cindy saw my camera and offered to take a photo with me. If I look a little goofy and star struck, that’s because I was. I’ve never met anyone as focussed and determined in her cause as Cindy Sheehan.

Thanks for coming out to Cindy’s reading. It was a great event that got a lot of people energized. I was proud to have had it at Coliseum Books, and for my small role in getting it there. Great photos, and that’s me in the background with the blue shirt in the one with all the flashes going off.
By the way, George McGovern–who played a huge role among elected officials who were opposed to America’s involvement in Vietnam, and who was the Democratic candidate for President in 1972–will speak at Coliseum in early January. Check our calendar of events for an exact date. He’ll be talking about Social Security, but still . . .
Ah yeah, I remember you, Dee. Thanks for organizing the event. Cindy is something special. I was so happy to hear her speak and meet her.
