Photoblogger

I braved some of the nastiest weather of the year to go to tonight’s Photoblogger 3 event at the Apple Store in Soho. After climbing the scary glass stairs to the theater I got a seat, but it was soon packed, and it was standing room only to the very end. The personable host was Jake Dobkins of bluejake.com. My favorites of the featured bloggers were Zach Klein and Youngna Park who presented a joint project where they offered Williamsburg residents a candy cane to take their portrait. I also enjoyed Joseph Holms of joe’s nyc whose technique for getting candids is very much like mine. Ironically I didn’t take any photos of the event. Here are some photos on Flickr

Banksy in NY

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005

“They’re good enough to be in there, so I don’t see why I should wait” – Dressed as a British pensioner, over the last few days Banksy entered each of the galleries (The Brooklyn Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Natural History) and attached one of his own works, complete with authorative name plaque and explanation.

Staff at the New York Met discovered and removed their new aquisition early Sunday morning while Banksy‘s discount soup can print took pride of place in the MoMA for over three days before being torn down.

As of now, the other two pieces currently remain firmly in place…
