| Artists are given segments of a canvas that extends around about a third of the perimeter of the Park. Many of this year’s paintings were anti-Bush, this one made me laugh.
Little George Washington was known for not being able to tell a lie, but little George (Pinocchio) Bush is known for not being able to tell the truth. I can only guess that he is chained in the doghouse out of some personal preference of the artist. |

Demonstration in Union Square Park by Falun Dafa, claiming that practicioners of Falun Gong are being tortured and murdered in mainland China. faluninfo.net
They put on an effective presentation. Could that be what an authentic Chinese guard uniform looks like. The makeup on this bound woman was realistic, and pretty nasty looking. Another demonstrator was confined in a cage, too small to stand in or stretch out.
The people in the background (some in yellow shirts) are doing the exercises. Falun Gong remind me of Tai Chi. Here’s some online instruction, including video if you want to try this out for yourself.
China maintains that they are a dangerous doomsday cult.
This article in the National Review gives some background and another take on the situation.
