Speaking of trees, the parks department has recently put identifying plaques on the elms in Tompkins Square park. Go say hello, and wish them well. This stand of elms is one of the largest remaining, or at least that’s what I was told by someone with binoculars and a clipboard, doing Dutch-elm-disease watch on the trees.
