Schedule Change on Air America

Janeane Garofalo announced a schedule change at Air America. The Majority Report will directly follow Randi Rhodes at 7, and Mike Malloy will follow them at 10. I don’t know Malloy but I like idea of the MJ following RR. Previously they had been separated by an hour of Marty Kaplan’s magazine format show. I enjoyed Kaplan’s show, but it interrupted the live-radio energy, with what was largely pre-recorded segments. These changes will take place on Monday. This week, during the Democratic convention, The Majority Report has been broadcasting live from 7 to midnight. (All times for the East Coast)

Update - Marty Kaplan is taking a vacation for a couple of weeks and then will have a two hour show on Saturdays.

Ferrell does Dubya

Will Ferrell doing a pretty funny Dubya for ACT. Could have been more tightly editited, but it’s good for a couple of laughs. Right/option click on the quicktime links to download the file to your computer. The streaming options, at least in Mozilla, are flaky. ACT is working to elect Democrats in federal, state and local elections. Via Mefi

Galoshes

A day for galoshes and raincoat in late July. I’d like to find a site that gives local daily NYC weather records. This really doesn’t feel like late july. We haven’t had more than a day or two of really hot weather this summer. Not that I’m complaining. NYC summers can be brutal. But it would be interesting to compare this week with say the last week of July in 1934. Houston and Essex Streets.
