I went over the river and poked around Williamsburg and DUMBO hoping to find more of Swoon’s new series of woodblock prints. But it wasn’t until I came back over the Manhattan bridge that I found one. Grand Street and Bowery, It’s applied to the iron walls of a news stand. I love the way it is grounded. That is, it gives the illusion that the rider is actually on the ground. |

She somehow applied color to this print. I haven’t figured out what technique. It could be as simple as hand painting then printing over it. But I had a hard enough time getting this photo, without getting run down on Grand Street, to risk any additional time analyzing it. |
