Sorry for the lapse in updates. I’ve been feverishly working on this Flash movie about last Friday’s Critical Mass ride, starting in Union Square Park.
The crowd was estimated at Eight Hundred. Here they are leaving the North East corner of Union Square and heading up Park Avenue.
These tall-riders joined at the tail end of the ride. I suppose this is because they didn’t want to be in a slow moving crowd, on a bike that either moves forward or falls right over. Or could a skilled rider make this contraption hover back and forth like a unicycle? This is pure speculation, I didn’t get to see them much in action. But it must be something mad, biking around city streets, eye-level with bus drivers. I think I’d at least want a helmet, if not a harness and sky-hook.
