| One of many private property signs that my friend Payaso and I saw on the fences keeping us from getting near the water on City Island today. We took our bikes out to Pelham Bay Park on the number 6 train. City Island is a short bike ride from the park. |

We came across this dedicated bunch of mostly teenage volunteers trying to eradicate a nonnative vine that is choking out the native trees in Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx.

At Orchard Beach we came across a family of extreme kite enthusiasts. Here they are successfully launching a twenty-five foot Gecko shaped kite after struggling with its amazing tangle of strings. It amusingly wiggles and waves in the breeze. Jesse, on the far left kept trying to convert us to the kite kult, saying that once we touched the taut string of a lofted kite we would never be the same.

Here we are holding onto the kite while Jesse captured the attempted conversion with my camera.
