This is a .9 meter satellite image of central Baghdad inside Space.com’s amazing Zoom Viewer. You can see individual cars on the street! It’s a DigitalGlobe Quickbird satellite image, captured on March 27th, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Baghdad time. Easiest way to use it, is to click on the area you are interested in zooming in on. Then reset to full view and repeat for other areas. The arrow-navigation annoyingly jumps over adjacent areas. More satellite images on the Zoom Viewer page. Via Mefi |
Biggest Anti-War Protest In Boston Since Vietnam – personal account of Saturday’s rally and die-in. |
Whitley Strieber interviews investigative reporter Greg Palast on Dreamland. Palast is the author of The Best Democracy Money Can Buy. Click the "listen now" button at the top of this page, then drag the play bar 47 minutes into the show for the interview (Dreamland shows are available online for one month only). gregpalast.com Whitley’s site is unknowncountry.com. His show, Dreamland, is getting much more political now that it is Internet-only, and is no longer broadcast by Clear Channel. Clear Channel’s Coast to Coast with George Noory (Noory replaced Art Bell after he retired) is still being broadcast, but it is no longer available in NYC. Noory has recently had several guests not towing the mainstream line on Iraq. On WABC-AM it has been replaced with ultra-reactionary, unlistenable screed, overnights. |

protest-records.com has a collection of peace/anti-war motivated mp3s. Most are pretty crappy, but a couple that I liked are: Youth Against Fascism by Sonic Youth and Special Delivery by MC Frontalot. Via Mefi |
