United for Peace and Justice filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday morning against the City of New York over its refusal to issue them a march permit for February 15. They had requested a permit to assemble near the United Nations, march past the UN, and then march through Manhattan to a rally location near Central Park. The City countered by saying that they could have a "stationaryevent" but not a march. AP I went to the rally in support of the suit at the Federal Courthouse in Manhattan. More photos here. |
